Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) has ordered the swift delivery of emergency aid to besieged Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Shaikh Hamdan gave instructions to the RCA to implement an ambitious humanitarian programme to meet the basic requirements of Palestinians and improve their living conditions. He instructed authorities to swiftly dispatch emergency assistance to the affected families living under horrid conditions due to the Israeli blockade.
The RCA has immediately begun the implementation of Shaikh Hamdan's instruction through a relief programme that will meet the needs of the Palestinians in Gaza through coordination with the Cairo-based General Relief Committee and the Egyptian Red Crescent Society and UN charity bodies operating in the Palestinian territories.
