Abu Dhabi:  Inspired by the success of the first ever programme after the reopening of Shaikh Zayed Pakistani cultural centre in Abu Dhabi, Pakistani women want to set up a formal association.

Apart from enjoying the 'Ladies Bazaar', the women found it an occasion to discuss proceeding with setting up the association. They were speaking to Gulf News on the sidelines of the event at the bazaar organised on Friday under the auspices of Pakistan Embassy.

"The participation of a large number of women and children was more than expected and they all were excited to gather at the centre after long time," said Sabahath, a teacher who played the role of an announcer at the event.

The bazaar was organised to raise funds for upgrading the Pakistani Community School in Mussaffah.

"Some of them are professionals like doctors but remain housewives," said Shahina Ajmal who had worked as the head of the Art Education Department at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
