Ras Al Khaimah: The public will soon be able to get instant fatwas on questions relating to education, psychology, social issues and religious and family matters, from professionals and renowned scholars at the Reforming and Social Guidance Association.

The "Direct Fatwa" project will be launched on April 11, when the association will start receiving queries from the public.

Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the association, said professionals will be available daily except Fridays to provide fatwas directly and correctly.

He stressed that professionals have been carefully selected from various fields to receive calls from the public.

Al Tunaiji said those professionals are well-known in the fields of education, psychology and religious, social and family related issues.

There will be a strong focus on family-related issues, including domestic violence.

Al Tunaiji said the association is ready to receive any questions in these fields.

Confusion

The new service will spare the public the confusion when many fatwas are issued from various sources.

Residents welcomed the move saying it would be of great benefit to the public.

Yousuf Murad, a Jordanian national involved in family dispute court cases, said the issues the scholars will cover will benefit the public and help families solve many problems.
