Sharjah: A fundraising campaign to relieve the suffering of Palestinian children living under the Israeli occupation was announced on Tuesday.
'For the Children' campaign, initiated by Her Highness Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, will be from April 12 to May 31.
"We wanted this particular campaign to benefit the children of Palestine who still have to live under occupation in this day and age ... These children must not be swept under the rug while we go on with our every day lives," said Shaikha Jawaher in a speech read on behalf of her.
The campaign aims to provide support to Palestinian children by providing them with their most basic needs and a chance for a better education.
