Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Interior has bought a specially equipped car for the family of two special needs children.
The car was bought on the instructions of Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, for Dh145,000.
The special car is equip-ped with an advanced lift worth Dh27,000 to enable the two young girls, Dalia and Lamees, to enter and exit the car.
The car was bought with funds from the special car number plate auctions.
The two young girls and their father, retired Lt Col Hamid Maatouk Marzouq Al Marzouqi, warmly thanked Shaikh Saif for his kind gesture.
Lt Col Abdul Rahman Al Kamali, director of the privatisation and investment department of Abu Dhabi Police, said the upcoming car number plate auction will be held on May 10 at Emirates Palace Hotel.
Special numbers offered at the upcoming auction such as 70, 29, 300 and 333 are expected to be highly sought.
The special car is equipped with an advanced lift to enable the two young girls, Dalia and Lamees, to enter and exit the car.
