Dubai: Students and staff at the Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology have raised Dh200,000 for children suffering in Palestine.
The money was handed over on Saturday to Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, to support her 'For the Children' campaign.
The fundraising effort started with a 'Dirham Day' before widening to incorporate events such as volleyball competitions and a bake sale.
