Dubai: Subscribers are complaining that etisalat customer service representatives take up to half-an-hour to answer calls.

Gulf News has been receiving a number of complaints about the quality of etisalat's customer support, with subscribers saying they have to wait too long for etisalat representatives to answer, and that some complaints are getting "lost".

But a spokesperson for the telecom company disputed the claims. "On an average, the waiting time for internet customers is between 2 and 3 minutes. etisalat has also provided alternate methods of getting in touch with its customer service staff which can be utilised during peak times," said Khalifa Al Shamsi, Vice-President of Marketing.

Subscriber Othman J. said when he had difficulty accessing the internet etisalat told a technician would call within a week. "It's been more than ten days now."
