Sharjah: New traffic diversions will be in place on Tuesday morning at Shaikh Khalid bin Khalid Al Qasimi roundabout, police officials announced on Sunday.
Sharjah Police and the Directorate of Public Works will close the roundabout temporarily, which is part of road network improvement project being carried out in the emirate.
Lieutenant Abdul Rahman Khatir, an official from the road project section at Sharjah Police, explained that motorists travelling from the Corniche and through Wasit Street will have to use the detour leading to Al Falaj Area.
Motorists coming from Sharjah Corniche and the city centre heading to Omran Taryam roundabout will have to first use the exit through Al Falaj area, and then use the detour taking a left towards Omran Taryam roundabout.
Those coming from Omran Taryam Roundabout heading to Ajman will have to use the right exit and proceed to Ajman.
The traffic coming from Omran Taryam roundabout heading towards the city centre and the Corniche area will have to use have to use the detour near Khalid bin Khalid Al Qasimi roundabout and take a left at the traffic-light intersection, then take a detour through Al Azara area towards Al Azara Round about.
Motorists coming from Ajman through Wasit road towards Sharjah's city centre will have to use the Al Azara roundabout.
