Manama: The Bahraini government has announced it will set up a new human rights body, which aims to improve living conditions in the country.
According to the Gulf Daily News, the initiative includes setting up a national human rights institute, increased inspections of labour camps, and more protection for domestic workers.
Police and government workers will also receive human rights training.
Bahrain will review its human rights performance at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on April 7.
