Muscat: The primary court in Muscat has sentenced a number of people for trading in pirated DVDs, including pornographic movies at the Ruwi Market, according to a source in the Directorate of Public Relations and Information at the General Prosecution.
The Arabic daily Al Watan reported that the court sentenced the accused to six months' imprisonment and a fine of 100 Omani riyals (Dh953). It also decided to sentence the other suspects for the offence of possessing and distributing pornographic movies. It also sentenced them to two months' imprisonment and a fine of 50 riyals.
