Riyadh: A mass campaign to collect blood for those injured in the Gaza carnage began on Sunday in Saudi Arabia.
People representing various sections of the Saudi society voiced their anguish and denunciation of the Israeli massacre of Gazans, including women and children.
Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz is in the forefront of Muslim leaders who urged the international community to intervene urgently to end Israel's attack on Gaza. He directed that all possible medical supplies be secured and shipped to Gaza Strip through Egypt.
King Abdullah also directed the securing of medical evacuation planes to transport injured Palestinians from Al Arish of Egypt to the Kingdom as well as air cargo planes to transport medical supplies.
Donation campaign
After his meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas here on Saturday evening, King Abdullah directed that the injured Palestinians would be treated at the Kingdom's specialist, referral and general hospitals.
The blood bank at Riyadh's King Faisal Specialist Hospital announced a popular blood donation campaign. There will be facilities for giving blood at the bank from 7:30am until 12am, according to the hospital sources.
Meanwhile, several parliamentarians, political analysts, mosque imams and the public alike slammed the massacre perpetrated of Palestinians.
They urged all Muslim countries to sever diplomatic ties with Israel.
