Skyline College, Sharjah, recently organised Appreciation Day 2008, an annual dinner in which students are honoured for their academic achievements, extracurricular and co-curricular activities as well as their participation in sports and student events.

Students were presented with certificates in recognition of their hard work and contribution to the university community.

Shahla Hassan, a marketing student, was recognised for helping organise several events including the Intro Bash party to welcome new students to the college. She headed the events committee in the 2007-2008 academic year and is today capping her graduation with a certificate from the university administration.

"Now that I have been appreciated for my work, I want to do more and be more active," she said.

Abdul Wasay Karrar Siddiqi is a travel and tourism student who has been most active on the college's magazine and in the Notice Board Committee. The latter is a student board that takes care of news notices from all departments. "Being honoured is a nice feeling; it motivates you to perform better in the future," he said.
