With the commencing of the UAE Cabinet's first session following its recent reshuffle, the expectations of how responsibilities and assignments are carried out remain the same. The agenda, as outlined by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, retains the same importance, urgency and immediacy in terms of achieving goals. Perhaps one of the key points raised by Shaikh Mohammad is the importance of engaging the second and third levels of leaders across the ministries in the decision-making, planning and implementation of various projects and policies. This is undoubtedly critical given that some of these junior leaders would be shouldering the responsibility in the future.
"We can face the challenge if we work hard and remain committed to the Federal Strategy, which we started implementing after it was endorsed by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. I don't want ministers to bring us their problems only, they should come up with valuable solutions," said Shaikh Mohammad. The task at hand is not simple as the challenges are complex and varied. The first step is to be open to innovative ideas and creative approaches.
