Time and again, we are reminded of the nasty consequences of reckless driving on our roads. The horrific road accident which occurred on Sunday when a minibus transporting seven people in Dubai lost control, killing five and injuring four is most unfortunate. According to police, the cause of the accident was speeding. Police have said that more often than not, accidents involving minibuses are fatal. This could be because they usually transport employees to and from work, which means time is 'precious'. Police are rightfully insisting on companies renting or owning minibuses to educate their drivers on the importance of abiding by traffic rules.
Never mind the busy schedules or the unavoidable traffic which could cause delays, drivers should always make sure they never falter when it comes to driving sensibly and within the specified laws. When an accident of this scale occur, we are suddenly reminded of the deadly cost of reckless driving.
