Now that Silvio Berlsuconi is Italy's prime minister, we must expect his usual gaffe-prone comments will be in circulation again. Whether as prime minister, on the campaign trail, or as a private citizen, Berlusconi is renowned for making off the cuff politically insensitive remarks.

Berlusconi's wife once was so incensed at a comment he made about her that she demanded a public apology. Even when campaigning for the post of prime minister, he claimed the women in the left-wing party were uglier than those of the centre party (his own). And now he chides the Spanish prime minister for his cabinet being too "pink" (too many women).

Berlusconi dismisses criticism, claiming Italians understand him, which is why he's popular. So we can expect worse to come.
