Cairo: A Sudanese woman was killed by Egyptian police while attempting to cross into Israel near the Rafah border crossing.
Another woman carrying an infant was also arrested.
A police official said the women were from the conflict ridden Sudanese region of Darfur and refused to surrender to Egyptian police.
Police were unable to capture the traffickers to whom the women paid US $500 for safe transport across Sinai to Israel.
