Tehran: Chinese banks have stopped working with Iranian banks due to US pressure over Tehran's disputed nuclear programme, according to media reports on Saturday.
The United States has urged international banks and companies to stop doing business with Tehran, which it accuses of secretly developing nuclear weapons.
The Etemad newspaper quoted Deputy Foreign Minister Mahdi Miraboutalebi that China's "has cut its cooperation with Iranian banks for four months now."
China, which has growing commercial ties with Iran, has been reluctant to impose tough economic sanctions on the country.
