Tehran: An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale rocked a city in southwest Iran on Wednesday but no casualties were immediately reported, the official IRNA news agency reported.
The quake hit near the city of Dogonbadan, about 600 km (375 miles) south of the Iranian capital Tehran, the Iran's Geophysics Institute was quoted as saying.
The city of Dogonbadan is situated near some big Iranian oil fields, though no damage to any oil or gas facilities has been reported.
