Baghdad: As US Defence Secretary Robert Gates was ending a two-day visit to the Iraqi capital two car bombs hit Baghdad on Monday, security officials said.
Witnesses said the bombs exploded in the southeastern neighbourhood of Jadriyah around noon as Gates was about to leave the country.
A security official said the two car bombs exploded almost simultaneously at the busy Al Huriyah square.
Initial reports said that at least 10 people were wounded and were being ferried to hospitals, he said.
