Damascus: Syrian President Bashar Al Assad said Israel did not ask Syria to severe ties with Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas, according to a website report on Saturday.
"Syria has not been asked to disengage with Iran and Hamas," the Sham Press news website quoted Al Assad as saying. "Israelis are talking about negotiations without preconditions," he said.
The Syrian leader also clarified that Syria is interested in "the Syrian track only" and that Syria is "not responsible" for the Palestinian issue of Hamas.
"The Israeli-Hezbollah (issue) is part of the Lebanese track and today we are not in Lebanon so we are talking about the Syrian track only," he added.
