Dubai: Al Wasl meet Al Ahli of Bahrain today in their first match in Group B in the GCC clubs' tournament to be inaugurated in Doha from April 24 to 30, with a total of eight GCC clubs taking part.
Al Wasl held a one-week training camp in Bahrain prior to their participation in the GCC tournament. They played three warm-up matches, beating Manama 95-75 and 106-99, while they also beat Muharraq 97-67.
Al Wasl's second match in Group B will be tomorrow against Al Arabi of Kuwait and their last match will be against Al Arabi of Qatar on Saturday.
They will be looking to clinch the top place in the group to reach the semifinals. They do not want a repeat of last year when they suffered the agony of losing in the final.
