Abu Dhabi: Turkey Masters upset Lobo's Bowling Team 5-3 and jumped to third place on the standings of the Abu Dhabi Filipino Bowling Club (ADFBC)-Western Union 3rd Inter-Commercial Bowling League.
The event, sponsored by Western Union and Mr 300 Bowling Equipment Trading, is being held at Shaikh Khalifa International Bowling Centre.
Meanwhile, Manny Inserto, president of the ADFBC and chairman of the 11th GCC All-Filipino Bowling Tournament, announced that this prestigious competition will also be held in Abu Dhabi from August 4-8.
Best of the lot
More than 300 of the best Filipino bowlers throughout the GCC countries will take part.
Ace bowler Jess Muya led the Turkey Masters with 636 in a 3-game series, supported by Alvin Aliviano's 525, veteran Roman Dizon's 505, Froilan Fortes' 501 and consistent lady bowler Sarah Ociones Al Mullah's 435.
The Bowler-of-the-Week title was awarded to Hareb Al Mansouri of Number One after scoring 676 pinfalls and 7 strikes in a row.
Other team results: Al Ghurair Exchange edged out defending champion UAE Exchange Centre 4-2. Former leaders Mr 300 beat JC Valves 6-3, Number One beat Strikers 4-2, Flowserve defeated Abu Dhabi Ship
Building 5-2, National Bank of Abu Dhabi outplayed Trans Aero Power Plant FZE 5-3, Boskalis beat Alec House Shoes 5-2, Ye Bouy outclassed Mega Bowlers 6-4 and Fun Bowlers outpointed The Kanoo Group 6-2.
