Sharjah: The star-studded Kenyan cricket team are here to take on Namibia and the UAE in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Intercontinental Cup tournament at the Sharjah Cricket stadium.
The Kenyan team are being led by Steve Tikolo. The team comprise experienced players like Thomas Odoyo Collins Obuya and Tony Suji.
Kenya are on top of the table in this eight-nation tournament with 40 points despite their country reeling under the impact of violence.
The match between Kenya and Namibia which is to be held from today was scheduled to be held in Nairobi but was shifted here due to the violence.
Namibia scored a 40-run win over the UAE last week and are in the second place with 34 points.
Kenya will take on UAE from February 4-7 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
UAE have played four matches so far and have 23 points. Despite taking a 60-run lead in the first innings against Namibia, UAE lost the match and 14 points that were on offer for an outright victory.
Ireland had won the tournament in 2005 and 2006-07, beating Kenya and Canada, respectively.
The final will be held in UAE in November.
