Dubai: Shaiman Anwar, the hard-hitting batsman who has taken domestic cricket by storm, was once again in full flow in the Dubai Cricket Council's Twenty20 tournament semifinal at the Zabeel Park cricket ground.

Anwar cracked an unbeaten 139 studded with 16 sixes and three fours to guide Nucaf Tellicherry into the final with a 105-runs win over Air India.

Tellicherry will now take on Eurocon Alubond in the final.

Eurocon's chances of stopping Tellicherry in the final will depend on whether they will be able to tie down Shaiman before he gets into his usual rhythm.

In the semifinal, Eurocon beat Active IT Distribution by 56 runs.

Air India were flying high after an impressive performance in this tournament until they were hit by Shaiman's whirlwind knock.

Against Tellicherry, they were slowly taking control of the match, picking wickets at regular intervals. Tellicherry were 145 for 6 in 16 overs when Shaiman tilted the balance in favour of his team through some spectacular shots. Shaiman hit ten sixes in the last four overs to virtually attract all the park visitors into the ground. Samiullah too hit 30 runs off just 18 balls with three fours and a six.

Stunned by the whirlwind knock from Shaiman, which helped Tellicherry post 215 for 6 in 20 overs, Air India failed to put up a fight. They could only muster 110 for 8 in 20 overs. Eurocon dominated the semifinal from the start. The hard-hitting Jarnail Singh cracked 42 with three fours and three sixes. Ramzan swelled the total through a 48 off 35 balls with four sixes.

Active IT were bowled out for 86 in just 15.4 overs. Azam took four wickets for 17 runs while Indika took 3 for 14.
