Sharjah: Shaiman Anwar, the sixer hitting specialist, and UAE allrounder Naeemullah, helped Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS) win the 17th Bukhatir League B Division tournament.
Setting ablaze the Al Dhaid Cricket Village ground, these two batsmen hit breezy half centuries to help CSS post an imposing 249 for 6 in the allotted 24 overs against Eurocon Alubond.
In reply, Eurocon could only muster 199 for 8. It was a painful second successive defeat for Eurocon in a final. Recently they had lost to Nucaf Tellicherry in the final of the Dubai Cricket Council Twenty20 tournament.

CSS, which once ruled as the strongest team in UAE cricket, has regained its glory and the hero of their team is Anwar. He once again displayed his ability to tilt the balance through his quick knocks.
Anwar cracked a 72 off just 40 balls with seven sixers and three boundaries.
Anwar would have hit a century but for Eurocon's young leg spinner Adnan Ul Mulk. He hit three sixes in a row off Adnan but he got stumped while attempting a fourth.
"I am happy that my knock has helped CSS win again. I am now gearing up for the selection trials to the UAE team and also for Emirates India in the four-nation tournament," remarked a confident Anwar to Gulf News after the knock.
Anwar got good support from Naeemullah, who also hit a quick 68 off just 39 balls with six fours and three sixes. Asghar Ali too chipped in with 44 off 25 balls with five fours and one six.
Except for A. Sharif, who took three wickets for 20 runs, all the other bowlers received heavy punishment from CSS team's aggressive batsmen. Eurocon chased the total confidently. Nasir Aziz hit a quick 67 off 30 balls with seven four and four sixes. Haris Baig too cracked a 53 off 24 balls with four fours and two sixes.
Naeemullah sparkled with the ball too taking two wickets and restricting Eurocon's run flow.
Eurocon's hard-hitting batsman Jarnail Singh scored only 21 off 24 balls.
Naeemullah, who had won the best allrounder award in Al Dhaid cricket league, added another feather to his cap by winning the man of the final award.
CSS is also participating in the 34th Bukhatir League A division tournament.
