Dubai: Indian cricket team fast bower Shanthakumaran Sreesanth will play a different role in Dubai tomorrow. He will distribute 50 air tickets to the needy prisoners of the Awir Jail.
Though Sreesanth had just returned to India after a hectic tour of Australia, he readily agreed to a humanitarian initiative undertaken by Snowhite Garments.
"A lot of prisoners who were involved in petty crimes are still in jail unable to go back to India due to lack of money to buy air tickets. The Kerala Youth Cultural Centre (KYCC) and Indian Consulate together gave us a list of such deserving prisoners and we decided to distribute tickets for them," said Hiroo D. Vasnnani, Managing Director of Snowhite.
Speaking from India, Sreesanth said: "When I was contacted for this noble task, I did not hesitate to accept the invitation."
Sreesanth will also meet fans at Snowhite showrooms in Karama and Fish roundabout.
