Sharjah: Top England Test stars representing five English County teams will fly into the UAE for the Pro Arch tournament, commencing tomorrow.
In the first match of the tournament UAE will take on Essex at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium from 2pm.
During this 17-day tournament Sussex, Essex, Somerset, Yorkshire and Lancashire and the UAE will play 12 games in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
"The tournament has got good support. Emirates will be the official airline, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi the hotel partner and the official real estate is the First Group. The Trophy will be supplied by Precise Crystal," said Matthew Jackson, Chief Executive Office of the Sports Arabia Ltd, the organisers of the event.
Marcus Trescothick will play for Somerset, Andrew Flintoff for Lancashire and Darren Gough for Yorkshire, while Graham Gooch is Essex coach.
Wonderful opportunity
Announcing the support for the event, Maurice Flanagan, Executive Vice Chairman, Emirates Airline and Group, said: "Emirates is proud to support this tournament, which will see some of the best players in cricket competing here in the UAE.
