Dubai: Maqsood Ahmad played a stellar role to guide Electro Cooling Centre to a splendid six-wicket victory over Al Muhairi in the ADCC President's Cup division-two tournament here at the council grounds in the weekend.
Maqsood took four for 32 from his quota of eight overs to bowl out Al Muhairi for 202 and then came in at No.3 slot to stroke a match winning 79 not out for his team to knock off the winning runs with 2.5 overs to spare.
Maqsood hit five fours and shared a fine 88-run stand for the second wicket with opener Asanka Chandana (42) to set the platform for the run chase. Chandana also bowled in tandem with Maqsood to return with figures of 8-0-30-3.
William Hare Abu Dhabi Gymkhana were home for lunch after thrashing IRN Bru by 10 wickets.
Kashif Mahmood grabbed six for 24 to dismiss IRN Bru for 118 and Abu Dhabi Gymkhana openers Shafqat Ehsan (47 not out) and Humayun Gill (54 not out) hit the winning runs in just 14 overs.
