Dubai: Shanthakumaran Sreesanth enjoys challenges, and if challenged, he relishes taking on his opponent head-on. Unfortunately in one such situation his opponent wasn't a batsman, but a retailer.
During his recent tour to Australia, a retailer at an outlet at the airport made a sarcastic remark when he arrived for the one-day series.
Target
According to Sreesanth, he had remarked, "hope you guys will at least beat Sri Lanka." Sreesanth took that remark very badly.
"On our return after we won the series, I walked into the same shop at the airport, met the guy and asked him to please repeat what he had told me on arrival," he said.
This brash youngster, whom many feared would be targeted by the Australian crowd for his skirmishes with Andrew Symonds in India, did not encounter any problems.
"The crowd was very supportive."
"They love to watch competitive cricket and when we played good cricket, they just loved us," said Sreesanth.
