Abu Dhabi Atlas Telecom and Nissan Al Masaood moved into the semifinals of the second ADCC President's Cup division-2 tournament despite the latter team going down by 76 runs here at the council grounds.

Atlas Telecom took the field needing a win and achieved it quite comfortably after posting a challenging 261 with three deliveries shy of their allotted 40 overs. The automobile dealers made 185 for seven in reply to garner enough points to advance into the last four.

Triumph

Avis Rent-A-Car was the unfortunate side to suffer after all three teams had finished on equal points in Group B.

Opener Ghafoor Butt stroked a fine 88 to lay the foundation for Atlas telecom total. His knock contained six sixes and five fours, and then Fayyaz Ahmad bagged four for 31 from his quota of eight overs to put Al Masaood on the back foot.

Electro Cooling Centre kept their hopes alive in Group A with a five wicket triumph over United Bank Limited.

UBL electing to bat first were bundled out for 185 and Electro Cooling Centre knocked off the winning runs in 31.1 overs.
