Ajman: The Ajman Cricket Council will spot 18 talented school cricketers through an inter school cricket tournament for Under-19 players.
"We will be staging a Twenty20 inter school tournament for 16 schools in the UAE and select a combined schools team of 18 players and will present it before Emirates Cricket Board for consideration into the UAE Under-19 team," remarked Shaji Ul Mulk, Secretary General of Ajman Cricket Council.
UAE will soon be selecting an Under-19 team for the Asian Cricket Council Under-19 tournament.
"We will be charging only a nominal entrance fee of Dh500 and matches will be held on Saturdays and week days in the morning and afternoon at the Ajman Council ground.
"It will be a month-long tournament finishing by the end of May," added Mulk.
The combined team will be given free entry to Ajman Council's three junior B division tournaments.
This tournament is being sponsored by Mulk Holding and special awards will be presented to outstanding performers.
