Ajman: Daniyal Ahmad of American University of Sharjah (AUS) made the final of the Ajman Cricket Council Inter-University cricket tournament a memorable match.
Through a fine all-round performance, Ahmad, a final year BSC student in Business Administration, guided his team to a 19-run over Middlesex.
Opening the innings, Ahmad hit a quick 37 to provide a brilliant start and then took 3 wickets with his leg-break. He put on a 92-run opening partnership in just 7 overs with Bilal Bhati, who went on to top-score with an elegant 56.
"I am delighted with my performance as this would be my last match for my college," Ahmad told Gulf News after winning the Man-of-the-Final award.
Middlesex's Maisam Raza, who won the Player-of-the-Tournament and Best Batsman awards, picked up 2 wickets and top-scored with 38.
