Sharjah:  Emirates Sri Lanka will take on Emirates Pakistan in the final of the Alam Steel Four-nation cricket tournament organised by the Emirates Cricket Board on Friday.

Sri Lanka thrashed Emirates Rest by 111 runs to clinch a place in the final.

Emirates India and Emirates Rest bowed out of the tournament.

The heroes of Sri Lanka's victory were Shadeep Silva and Bongso.

Silva produced a brilliant four-wicket haul while Bongso smashed a scintillating century.

Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 249 for 7 in 50 overs with Bongso doing the bulk of the scoring. He hit 10 fours and two sixes in his 101 before retiring hurt.

P. Chandana chipped in with a fine 50 which contained five fours while D. Fernando made 23 before being run out.

Shoaib Sarwar and Aosaf Ali claimed two wickets each but they could not check the run flow.

Emirates Rest, in reply, were bowled out for 138 in 36 overs with Silva doing most of the damage. He conceded just 17 runs for his four-wicket haul while Aruna Bandaranayake and Indika shared five wickets to completely destroy Emirates Rest's challenge.

Mohammad Tauqir was the only batsman who could withstand the tight Sri Lankan bowling. The former UAE captain hit a fighting 37 which included five fours.
