Sharjah: Shaiman Anwar cracked yet another whirlwind century and helped Consolidated Shipping Service Group win a hat-trick of titles in the Sharjah Cricket Council tournaments.
In the final of the AJ Invitation League, Anwar smashed six sixes and six fours to score a 94-ball 100. Along with skipper Baktiyar Palekar (52), Anwar helped his team reach 212 for 6.
In reply, Ibsons came up with a brilliant chase, but fell short by just two runs. Anwar took 3 for 41, while Kashif Ahmad picked up 3 for 18.
"We could have won four titles in a row had we not lost in the semifinal of the Bukhatir League Division A. We owe our victory to our team combination and the brilliant form of our players," Palekar told Gulf News.
Anwar must have lost track of the Man-of-the-Match awards he has won this year and the centuries he has hit this season! "It has been a great season. I must have hit nearly 25 centuries and over 100 sixes, but what is important to me is my team's win," he said.
