Dubai: The Lord's Taverners cricket team achieved a resounding victory against the Fly Emirates XI for the first time on home-ground, at a sun-drenched Windsor Castle on Sunday.

The team, made up of professional cricketers and celebrities, won by seven wickets, making 166 for 3 and bowling the Emirates XI out for 164. The losing team, however, still have an overall lead of 8:4 in the series.

The Lord's Taverners' Ian Westwood won Man of the Match for his impressive score of 75. Emirates XI Captain, Javaid Esmail, was the highest scorer for the other side, notching up a creditable 60.

Vince Wells replaced Taverners' original captain, Darren Maddy, who broke a thumb last week. Also, team member and television celebrity, Chris Tarrant, scored a duck and left the field on his third ball.

His son Toby, however, brought him some Father's Day joy, with two wickets including a brilliant catch on the boundary.

Prince Philip, Taverners' patron, attended the event as well. He met the teams and joined around 200 guests for lunch.
