Dubai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said it will provide adequate rest to its players.
Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni had hit out at the Asia Cup schedule and said that that players are tired due to the tight schedule.
"We have international commitments, Indian Premier League (IPL) and domestic cricket. It is not that every player is playing too much cricket but certain players are playing a lot of cricket and we need to give them rest," remarked Niranjan Shah, the BCCI secretary, to Gulf News.
"India is a huge country. There are large number of players due to our sheer population and size of the country. We will adopt a rotation policy," he added.
Trying new pacers
"We must have a bigger pool of pacers and we should not be afraid to try out different bowlers," he said.
"The IPL has provided a good opportunity for our youngsters to play with international cricketers. It was a big financial success for the BCCI, players and even the franchise."
