Dubai: UAE is under consideration as a venue for the Cricket Champions League involving two teams from England, India, Australia and South Africa.

"UAE can get to stage the champions league. Top two teams from the different countries will play in this event," said Niranjan Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

This league is inspired by the success of India Premier League, which was staged by the BCCI recently.

England will represented by the two finalists from the ECB Twenty20 Cup to be held on July 26. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings from India, Victoria and Western Australia from Australia, Titans and KwaZulu Natal Dolphins from South Africa will take part in this eight team event.

Shah said that India would like to play One-day international matches in UAE but for the tight schedule.

"This year India is totally tied up with their international commitments. Frankly, till next year June, India is fully booked and will not be available to be play here," added Shah.

Dubai Sports City Cricket stadium is set to be ready by the end of the year. The ICC Board members are scheduled to be taken on a tour of the 25,000 seat cricket stadium, ICC Global Cricket Academy and the future ICC headquarters building today.
