Dubai:  The International Cricket Council (ICC) has allowed its vice president Sharad Pawar to also hold the post of the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI too.

Though the ICC had amended its constitution during its annual conference that vice presidents and presidents of the ICC cannot hold dual posts, Pawar has been granted permission to remain as BCCI President till his term ends in September.

All the top Indian cricket board officials, secretary Niranjan Shah, treasurer N. Srinivasan, next board president Shashank Manohar, vice president Lalit Modi and I S Bindra, who also holds the role of ICC's principal advisor, were here.

"It has been decided Pawar will continue as the president of BCCI till September. However by the time the next ICC meeting is held, he would have stepped down as BCCI president," said BCCI secretary Shah. The BCCI, which is being already talk about as the most powerful voice in the ICC due to its increasing financial power, had played a crucial role in preventing Zimbabwe's ouster from ICC.
