Dubai: The UAE Football Association's General Assembly (GA) will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday to form a new election committee.
The FA decided to invite the GA due to Fifa instructions.
New members
Fifa stipulated that the members of the elections committee must be neutral and not belong to the government sector.
The elections which were scheduled to be held on April 12 will be moved to a new date.
The GA which was scheduled to hold its meeting on January 15 to elect the new board has been postponed due to the resignation of the FA chairman Yousuf Al Sarkal following the Majid Naser case. Al Sarkal resigned from the FA, but kept his post in the Asian Football Confederation as deputy chairman for West Asia and head of its referees committee.
The GA can renew confidence in Hamad Bin Brook, the chairman of the former elections committee, because he belongs to the private sector.
The GA will name new members for the elections committee.
