Dubai: The UAE under-17 football team will assemble today in Dubai for a three-day training camp before meeting Al Nasr on Saturday in a warm-up match.
The youth team failed to reach the finals of the Asian Youth Cup, despite the fact they hosted the qualifiers. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan won the two berths for the finals which will be hosted by Uzbekistan in October. Emirati Ali Ebrahim, the UAE youth coach, selected 10 new players to inject fresh blood in the team.

The UAE still have an outside chance of playing in the Asian Youth Cup, though have to wait to see whether the Asian Football Confederation disqualifies Tajikistan, who allegedly forged the ages of their players.
