Dubai: Ali Bu Jsaim said that he would insist on not being nominated by the Al Nasr club for deputy chairman's seat in the Football Association's board of directors' elections, to be held on May 28.
"Some people said that I will become chairman of the new Professional League Committee (PLC), which will be formed in the coming weeks. Frankly, I do not want to be chairman of the PLC, as well as my refusal of the Al Nasr club nomination to the FA deputy chairman seat in the new board elections in May," Bu Jsaim told Gulf News yesterday.
Bu Jsaim said that he had worked hard in football for more than 25 years, first as a referee and then FA board chairman and referees' committee chairman, and thinks it's enough.
More time
"I think I worked hard during the last 25 years as a Fifa referee when I officiated in three World Cups in 1994, 1998 and 2002 and the in the FA board of directors. I have to take some rest and give more time to my family which I couldn't in the past."
Bu Jsaim, currently FA board's deputy chairman and referees' committee head, said that he would not keep away from the referees. "I will stay with them as referees' committee chairman in the coming period.
"I think I can serve better from this position than any other, because the referees in the UAE need a lot of attention to prepare and emerge to be among the best in Asia," concluded Bu Jsaim.
