Dubai: Nakheel, Sharjah Wanderers, Aldona United and Sirlim Sports Club all picked up winners' trophies at the end of the third Sun and Sand Sports six-a-side football tournament held in Sharjah on Friday.
Nakheel secured a thrilling 3-1 win against Lusitanians in the main competition, while hosts Sharjah Wanderers got past Goa Velha Al Zuari in the second category competition.
Aldona United defeated Global Ideas for the crown in the third category competition.
Meanwhile, Sirlim Sports Club beat Atlantic Tours and Travels for the category four title.
Hero
The hero for Nakheel was Arif who scored a brace to eventually pick up the highest-scorer award.
Arif opened the scoring early in the final to give Nakheel the lead.
But Lusitanians fought back immediately with Orlando Viegas securing the equaliser.
However, their joy was shortlived as Kazim came up with a solo run to put Nakheel ahead.
Arif then added his second goal to put the game out of reach for Lusitanians.
The awards were presented by Arif Mansouri, branch manager of Sun & Sand Sports at Sharjah City Centre.
The tournament, organised by Lusitanians Sports Club, had attracted a full field of 16 teams.
