Abu Dhabi: The UAE FA and the Committee of the UAE Pro-League has reached an agreement regarding which competitions each will organise during the season starting in the new 2008-09 season.
The Pro-League Committee will organise and supervise four annual competitions including the Pro-League and the Pro-league for the substitute teams, the Super Cup between the League and the President's Cup champions and the Pro-League Cup while the FA will organise and supervise the First Division League, and later the second division league from the 2009-10 season, the President's Cup and the youth and juniors competitions.
"We had a successful meeting and reached an agreement which will surely lead to the improvement and progress of the game in our country," Mohammad Khalfan Al Rumaithi, the Chairman of the UAE FA, told reporters after the meeting late on Wednesday.
"Everything is going in the right path and in the next few days many developments will happen in our quest to finish preparations for the kick off of the first UAE Pro-League in September."
