Dubai: Al Wasl meet Kuwait Club at Kuwait City in their Asian Champions League group B tie today. Set to kick off at 9.30pm, the match will offer last chance for both teams to stay in the race to top the group and qualify for the quarterfinals.

Al Wasl are in the third place in Group B with three points from one win and two defeats, while Kuwait have two points from two draws and a defeat. Iranian club Saipa are on top of the group with seven points. Al Quwa Al Jawiya of Iraq are second with four points.

Saipa and Al Quwa Al Jawiya, meanwhile, clash today in Tehran in a tough encounter to decide on the top team of the group. Al Wasl would hope that the Iraqi team win today to halt Saipa's winning streak and reduce the gap with the top team to one point if they beat Kuwait today.

"Winning today's match is the only way for us to keep our hopes alive to reach the quarterfinals. Any other result will mean that we are out of the competition," said the Al Wasl coach Ze Mario in Kuwait yesterday.

The Brazilian coach said that he is happy that the players have regained their morale after the defeat in the President's Cup last week. "The players are fit and ready to defend the Al Wasl colours."
