Dubai: Al Wasl coach Ze Mario has came out strongly in defence of his players following a minor altercation between one of his suspended stars and Al Ahli players.
"What happens on the field is left behind right there," said the Al Wasl coach.
Al Wasl's Andre Dias was seen coming down from the VIP spectators stand and questioning a handful of Al Ahli players as they came in for the halftime break. The UAE FA's disciplinary committee is expected to view the footage.
But the Brazilian rubbished claims by Al Ahli that his players had deliberately tried to provoke the home team. "We never provoked anyone," he said.
