Dubai: The UAE senior national soccer team arrived on Sunday in Seoul for their third match in group B against South Korea in the World cup qualifiers South Africa 2010.

The team held a seven-day training camp in Japan under French coach Dominique Bathenay who replaced his countryman Bruno Metsu following his resignation last month to join Qatar.

The UAE team played a warm-up match last Thursday against the Japan senior team at Niigata which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Despite the team suffering from the absence of many key players in the crucial match against South Korea on Wednesday, the team coach is satisfied with the performance of the current players and they will do their best to defend the UAE colours.

The match against Korea will be the last chance for the UAE team if they are to qualify for the World cup finals in South Africa. A win in Seoul will revive hopes to compete to clinch one of the four Asian seats to South Africa.

The UAE lost their first two matches in group B at home from North Korea 2-1 and with the same result from Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the resignation of Bruno Metsu.
