Abu Dhabi:  Challenge Tour Professional Andrew Marshall took the 35th Abu Dhabi Open Golf Championship title on Saturday. He carded a 70 on the first day amid strong winds and a superb 68 on the second - increasing the gap by four shots from his nearest rival and second-placed [142] Martin Le Mesurier [Abu Dhabi Golf Club].

Paul Dwyer (Clithero Golf Club, UK) finished second on 143, while Al Ghazal Golf Club's Mark Ireland took the fourth place with scores of 75 and 74.

Overall Gross winner Khalid Yousuf (EGC) on 147 showed how a young golfer should behave in the presence of his peers. "Khalid's parents should be proud of his endeavours and be sure of more to come with this youngster.

"He is very level-headed and respects his fellow golfers that he will most certainly go far should he choose to follow a golfing career", said Angela Scurr, the Club's manager.

"We are proud to have had many of the UAE national team compete in this weekend and thank Chris Vallender, UGA JDP Manger for all his support and input.

AGGC's Chris Harris on 142 was the Best Nett winner, four shots ahead of on form second placed Mark Hayman [AGGC - 146], and third placed Jamal Saab [DCGYC] on 147.
