Dubai: The UAE National Golf team displayed good form at the recently concluded 12th GCC Golf Championship which was held at the Riyadh Golf Club, Saudi Arabia. The tournament featured the best amateur golfers from the six GCC countries.
The UAE team finished third in the senior section with Saeed Malek scoring the best individual net score, displaying a consistent form at the championship, and Ahmad Al Musharrekh posting a second individual net score.
The tournament saw teams from UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman competing.
The UAE National Golf team headed by Adel Zarouni comprised Saeed Malek, Abdullah Al Musharrekh, Ahmad Al Musharrekh and Khalid Yousuf, while the UAE Juniors team comprised of Hassan Al Musharrekh, Faisal Al Marzouqi and Sohail Al Marzouqi.
This year the organisers introduced a Juniors Championship with the UAE National Junior Team also finishing third. Hassan Al Musharrekh posted the best second individual gross score.
On the final day, Ahmad Al Musharrekh finished at par 73 which was the best score of the day.
