Dubai: The season-ending 2008 UGA Scratch Match-play Championship supported by Gulf News will be held at the Four Seasons Golf Club on Friday to Saturday.
The finale to the UAE Golf Association (UGA) Order of Merit (OOM) 2007-2008 season, the Scratch Match-Play has as always attracted a lot of interest among the amateurs of the region - men, ladies and juniors.
The Scratch Match-Play is played over 36-holes on two days (total 72 holes) on the challenging Four Seasons Golf Course. The top 16 on the Order of Merit table both in the Men's and Ladies gross division and the top eight OOM toppers from the juniors - boys gross division compete for the top honours in their respective division.
Dramatic
In the Men's Gross division, Khalid Yousuf, Eric Hesson, Sean Thornberry and Mukhtar Mirza are some of the favourites while Fiza Errington, Sandra Grenet, Adele McKelvey, along with prominent juniors Sara Engsig, Nanna Nielsen, and Nasha Sarkari will provide a dramatic finish to the Ladies gross division.
In the Juniors - Bradley Able, Aditya Judge, Daniel Hendry and Phillip Urasch are the favourites.
