Dubai: The assistant trainer for Golden Shaheen winner Benny The Bull is delighted to add a Dubai triumph to her horse's resume.

"We are over the moon with this success," said Michelle Nevin after Benny The Bull's sensational win in the Gulf News-sponsored race last night.

"This is a dream night and the dream continues for us with this second success," Nevin stated.

Nevin was representing trainer Richard Dutrow Jr, who stayed behind to oversee favourite Big Brown's progress in the Florida Derby last night.

"I wish my dad could have been here to celebrate this moment with us," his daughter Molly told Gulf News.

This was the second winner for the trainer after Honour Devil had grabbed glory in the UAE Derby in the previous race.

Huge boost

"This has been a dream night for us and I think he came with the form we expected him to come with," Nevin added.

The assistant trainer said they had always believed the horse was a quality speed merchant.

"Tonight he has proved that he is the best among the sprinters," she said.

"Any win of this nature can be a huge boost to a horse's résumé. But this one is even more special as it puts him as one of the top sprinters in the world. We have always believed in his ability as a sprinter," she stated.

Jockey Edgar Prado, who was celebrating his second success of the night, was even more pleased with his mount. "He has phenomenal speed and that is what he showed everyone tonight," he said.

"He's the most laid back horse, but at the same time I would put him as a 'push-button' horse. He's there and you have to just coax him and he is gone."
